Festival of Life

A Life is terrible thing to waste!

Find Out More About Us

Festival of Life was created in 2014, with the first Festival of Life Event being held in 2016, The Idea of the Festival of Life events came from the founder and Chairperson Aaron Ryder who was inspired from his own journey through Depression and Suicide to create an event where family and friends could feel safe and speak openly about any problems they may have been going through.

Festival of Life hopes it will provide an opportunity for people to discuss their situation with community support groups who have had similar experiences in a caring yet non-threatening environment.

It also aims to provide the chance to celebrate life and remember family members or friends who have been lost.

Festival of Life’s plan and goal is to take the Festival of Life Event Nationwide by 2020 and to have an event annually in not only Auckland, but Wellington and Christchurch.

Vision and Mission

Vision: to create a nationwide event where there is a safe place for families and the community to come and forget about day to day distractions, as well as providing an opportunity for stories to be shared to help prevent these things from happening but also to provide an opportunity for people to discuss their situation with community support groups and others who have been through similar experiences, in a caring yet non-threatening environment.

Mission: Community Cohesion so people know that it does not matter what’s going on in their lives whether its Suicide, Depression, Drink/drug driving, Alcohol Abuse, Drug Abuse, Family Violence, they are not alone and there is people in the community that care, love & support them
